What are the rules ?

You will be able to customize your own criteria for returns and exchanges, ensuring that every aspect of your experience is as unique as your requirements.

Overview

Rules are a new feature that allows you to automate and customize the entire process of exchanges and returns. With them you will be able to establish conditions and actions to manage these processes more efficiently.

 

To access the rules you have to click on Settings > Rules in the left menu.

 

Rules are built with conditions and actions.

What is a condition? 

The 'Conditions' component establishes the requirements necessary to activate a specific rule. This component includes different categories of conditions that are applied to determine when and how the rule you want to create will be executed.

Here is the list of the following conditions: ( need to adjust conditions ) 

Geography and warehouse

  • Fulfillment Center
  • Country of origin

Product

  • Product categories: Remember that this condition refers to the type of product that belongs to a category, such as “Blouse” or “Shirt”.
  • Allowed Tags: Create conditions for products with specific tags, for example “Outlet” “sale”.

For Tags and Categories, it is important to write the word exactly as it appears in your e-commerce platform.

 

Price

  • Total order price
  • Price of returned products

Dates

  • Date of completion: This date refers to the date of purchase.
  • Delivery date: This date refers to the time the order was received.

Return specifications

  • Reasons for return: In this condition, the reasons previously configured in Settings > Reasons for return are taken into account.
  • Refund methods: In this condition, the reasons previously configured in Settings > Refund reasons are taken into account.

 

What is an action?

Actions allow you to configure what will happen with returns and exchanges, with shipping, with prices, that meet all the above criteria. Just as conditions can be grouped, it is also possible to accumulate actions, which means that you can have several actions based on the configured conditions.

The following actions are available:

Shipments

  • Change destination: You must select the warehouse, taking into account the ones you have configured in Settings > Return policies.
  • Do not allow the return method: You must select the method, taking into account the ones you have configured in Settings > Shipping methods.
  • Configure the return method: You can set specific prices for each service that is enabled.
  • Change the Carrier
  • Change Backup Carrier

Refunds

  • Change the rebate method incentive: You can set it to a fixed amount or percentage.
  • Turn off a rebate method: Depending on the methods you have enabled in Settings, you can remove any of the methods.
  • Change the refund method trigger: Once you have selected the refund method, you can choose between the following options: automatically after validating the product, automatically at refund creation or manually.
  • Change the refund method message: For exchanges and store credits you can add the text “Free shipping”, for the original payment method you can add “Hide” or “Shipping costs will apply”.
